DON NUTT BIOGRAPHY

Award-winning artist and illustrator
Don Nutt was born and raised in Coulee City, Washington, where he still
resides with his wife, Debbie, and their three children. His work
portrays the rural landscape of the Columbia Basin, as well as
historical, wildlife, and Native American themes.
Don became a full-time artist four
years ago, although he’s been showing his work throughout the West for
nearly three decades. His work combines his fascination with the
landscape and wildlife of the Columbia Basin with his interest in local
history.
Don has also illustrated three
nationally-distributed children’s books, created collaboratively with
Grant County residents Corinne Isaak and Karen Cooper. The books,
“Unique Monique”, “Marvelous Maddie”, and the most recent, “Cowboy Mac,”
are a great trio of rhyming, romping fun for kids. A broad mastery of
many mediums including pencil, pen, pastel, acrylic, oil and watercolor,
along with a passion for history, combine in Don’s art to achieve a
truly accurate portrait of the West.

the Art Guild of the Soap Lake Area, and is a member of the North
Okanogan County Artist’s Association as well as the Grant County
Historical Society.
He has also created a number of historical murals
throughout the area, including
one completed in May of 2008 in his hometown of Coulee City. His new
gallery, Cariboo Trail Studio, opened this spring.
